Brown County Sheriff’s Office receives $5,000.00 award from the Ruth and Roger Wolfe Charitable Trust.
Sheriff John Merchant is pleased to announce his department’s award of $5,000.00 from the Ruth and Roger Wolfe Charitable Trust.
“This grant will go a long way toward the purchase of manikins and other supplies needed to begin our Teen Lifesaver Initiative in local Brown County High Schools.” Merchant says.
The Teen Lifesaver Initiative is a program which will certify high school student in Brown County on CPR, First Aid and the use of an AED (Automated External defibrillator). The grant proposal was written by J. D. Clary, Public Resource Safety Officer for the Brown County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Merchant also said, “This generous grant from the Ruth and Roger Wolfe Charitable Trust will vastly improve the safety of the citizens of Brown County, and will provide students with a life skill they can carry with them throughout their lifetime.” “If tragedy strikes in the form of an automobile crash, natural disaster or a sudden heart attack, we will have close to 400 additional certified lifesavers available to assist, we cannot thank the Wolfe Charitable Trust enough for their important contribution to the safety of our citizens.”
