Patrol Area

The Brown County Deputies patrol 24 hours a day, 7 days a week within the approximate 580 square miles Brown County has within our boundary.

We are located in northeast Kansas and border the Counties of Doniphan, Jackson, Nemaha, Atchison and Richardson (Nebraska)

Cities include Hiawatha, Reserve, Morrill, Hamlin, Padonia, Fairview, Robinson, Powhattan, Mercier, Horton and Everest.

Also within the borders of Brown County are the Kickapoo, Sac and Fox and Iowa Tribe Reservations.

The Brown County Sheriffs Office has criminal authority from border to border within the county.

Serving the public to the best of our abilities and making Brown County Kansas a greater place to live is our main objective.

The duties of an officer are many: traffic enforcement, accident reporting, working criminal cases, taking reports, medical assists, responding to domestic violence calls, attending training classes, and testifying in court.

In addition to the Sheriff, we have the Undersheriff, Patrol Sergeants and Deputies.
