The Brown County Sheriffs office is reminding the public we are once again participating in the National Take Back Day which is geared towards taking prescription medication off of the streets.
We have had a great deal of success with this program and have had many positive comments from citizens. We are currently a collection site for prescription medication 24/7 and we like the opportunity to promote this program during the National Take Back event.
After the event the DEA will come to our office to pick up the medications for proper disposal. We are urging anyone with outdated, expired or unwanted prescription medications to bring them to the Sheriffs office to drop off. No needles of any kind please.
The collection site will be at the Sheriffs office located at 709 Utah Street in Hiawatha on Saturday October 26th (10 a.m.- 2 p.m.)
