Kansas’ 2014 “Click It or Ticket” seat belt enforcement campaign began May 19th and continues until June 1.
This national mobilization will take place over the Memorial Day holiday period and is supported by thousands of law enforcement agencies and traffic safety advocates across the country.
In Kansas, countless agencies including us here at the Brown County Sheriff’s Office will conduct special patrols — day and night — to identify and ticket unrestrained drivers and passengers.
“Click It or Ticket” has been credited with increasing Kansas’ seat belt usage rate. Statistics show that wearing a seat belt increases the chances of surviving a crash by more than 50 percent.
Motorists should be prepared to see more law enforcement on the roads during this special enforcement period. Special patrols will take place around the clock.
