We are very pleased with the turn out for the National Drug Take-Back Event. We estimated a dozen residents turned in approximately 35 pounds of unused, expired or unwanted medications at the Brown County Sheriffs Office on Saturday. Approximately 150 pounds of these drugs are to be turned over to DEA agents this week for incineration.
Since we are a 24/7 take back location, these types of medication are accepted at all times and have been accumulating since the last TAKE-BACK event approximately 6 months ago. This worthwhile program provides the public with a safe and secure location to turn in these medications which keeps them out of the hands of others.
